Veterans Crisis Line: Dial 988, then press 1 or text 838255
Project Street Outreach grew from one family’s loss into a mission of direct service, remembrance, and community action.

SFC Sam Caulder died in November 1988 after facing difficult challenges during his transition from military to civilian life.

PSO was founded in December 2012 in honor of Sam Caulder and with a commitment to help the next veteran before it is too late.

Founder Denise Cromwell and early volunteers visited homeless camps, distributed essentials, listened to veterans, and built local referral relationships.

Food outreach, clothing and hygiene support, seasonal assistance, blood drives, advocacy, and collaborative events expanded the organization’s reach.

PSO remains focused on direct impact, dignity, partnership, and pathways toward stability.
Photos document the organization’s early development, community relationships, and service activity.
